PFC, how lovely you be. The arm and leg armor is from the Champion set. I’d say it’s the best detailed armored I’ve seen so far. It’s detailed all the way down to those tiny lil delicious grapes, can’t go wrong with that. The belt, which I didn’t wear for this outfit, comes with rigged mesh and non-rigged which is how EVERY store should do armor. Might cost a bit more to upload two versions (I think?)..but goddamn it’s nice.
The belt is from a store called Ravensoul. They have a nice selection of new mesh stuff and older sculpty outfits. Now you might ask,”But, Sithas…mesh is the best right? RIGHT?!” Well, kind of…but sometimes no. I’ve found with certain types of armor that older stuff is much easier to adjust and fit on different kinds of bodies. Also, you don’t run the risk of it being rigged. I’m always happy to see stores still having old style gear around, still looks damn good too. Flexi loincloths do look a bit silly sometimes but…hey…they work!
Some new armor and also a body update! The armor is from an old school joint I’m pretty sure most everyone has heard of, Bare Rose. They have so much stuff at their store you’ll most likely find SOMETHING you like, and it’s all cheap as hell too. L$190 for a full suit of armor? Don’t mind if I do. This set came with rigged and non-rigged mesh..sadly the rigged parts don’t fit on the body. Still worth a pick up if you’re looking for some traditional, cheap priced plate armor.
The update for the Niramyth Aesthetic body is great. Tons of tweaks and a redesigned HUD. They added a lot more alpha layer options, now you can specifically do alphas for the front AND back of the body. What was already worth the price just became even more worth it! New clothing layer options, tattoo layers for hands/feet, and material texture on the body to give it a hell of a cool shine with the right graphics/lighting settings.

Yet another armor set from the Fantasy Gacha Carnival! This one is from a store called TURB, not a store I’m very familiar with. It comes with both rigged mesh (that doesn’t fit this body at all) and non-rigged pieces which can be adjusted to your liking. That’s nice enough, but I hate it when there’s pieces of armor that look like they’re just stuck to your skin. Maybe it’s some sort of slutty enchant so you can wiggle around with nice smooth bare thighs. I just wish there were some straps is all. I was hoping to get the black, bronze or copper, of course I got the set that I wanted the least. Many lindens were pumped into that machine and I got torso and arm pieces out the wazoo…so damn frustrating. Two rares before getting even one common leg piece!
At first I didn’t like the set that much, but it’s grown on me. It’s finely detailed with non-rigged pieces that you can modify. It’s sad how rare non-rigged modify armor can be these days. It has it’s problems and it being a gacha with more than one armor color you might piss all your money away just to get ten different arms in different colors that you don’t want. If you want to get a complete matching set, it might be better to wait until pieces start to pop up in yardsales/marketplace at decent prices. I’m all for supporting the lovely content creators of Second Life directly, but goddamn…there’s just too much gacha these days, man! What ever happened to just…new releases? Let me give ya’ll money without burning a hole in my wallet, please.

I don’t usually wear this style of armor, but I’ll be damned if it doesn’t look pretty sweet. I’m definitely a fan of Japanese armor, it just usually doesn’t fit the looks I make. The beard pokin’ out from the mask does look a bit silly…that beard is just too damn manly to take off! PFC has won me over with this lovely set that’s at the Fantasy Gacha Carnival. Yes, it’s gacha, which kind of sucks, but at least every piece comes with the texture change HUD. More places should do that. It’s such a bitch when there’s a machine that has a billion different armor pieces that are a billion different colors. Makes it very hard to complete the set, though I guess that means they make more money. Gambling, weee! The only rare thing is the mask, and I got the whole set fairly quickly compared to other ones I’ve tried.
Go over to the FGC as soon as you can. It’s pretty packed right now, but it will clear up soon enough. There’s a bunch of other stuff there to check out as well. Also check out the PFC mainstore, they always come out with good stuff.
Let’s talk about the Aesthetic body by Niramyth shown above. This is exactly what I’ve always wanted in a male mesh body! Big, burly, detailed down to the fingers and toes. I love how you can make the stomach area and waist nicely thick. A big problem with other muscular mesh bodies is that the waist and stomach area on them look like you’re a linebacker that wears a corset and also injected saline into your muscles. Not a good look to say the least. There’s no editing done to the photo, it’s all in-game lighting. The detail of it simply speaks for itself. I took my own shape that I use and just tweaked it to fit better. I’m sure it might not look as good on a slimmer body type, for that I would suggest theShops male body. It’s definitely more of a “body builder” type look. It would be nice to have an option for less definition to be “bear mode” or to fit the slimmer types.
I always use Aeros skins and tinting the body texture to fit the Raul skin from them was INCREDIBLY easy. You should most likely buy the Enzo variant of the Aesthetic body because I think matching it to skins would be easier than the darker one. The body hair option is very nice, and it comes with clothing layers that can be Omega scripted to use a TON more appliers. The biggest problem I’ve had with the body so far..maybe actually the only problem is that a lot of rigged mesh clothing simply just doesn’t work. Some larger pants are okay but I haven’t found a top yet that really fits the chest, shoulders and arms, even while using the alpha HUD. The alpha HUD takes big chunks of the body away which can make it a pain to get the exact right fit, I hope to see it become a bit more precise in further updates. Editable prim clothing seems to fairly easy to adjust though.
If you’re a fan of being a huge bastard and don’t care much about wearing certain mesh tops, get this body immediately. It’s amazing and comes with a lot of different options that you can see on their marketplace. The AO that comes with it is great as well which I didn’t expect. At first I was very hesitant to buy the body because of the price (L$2799, yikes!) However, after getting it…I can say it’s well worth every linden. 10/10 all day. Shoutout to the ever lovely Vivette Emor, go check her flickr and give her some loooove right now.
Now for something a bit different. By that I mean something that isn’t fantasy related! You see, there is a lovely event that goes on every month called The Men’s Department. They may have something fantasy related from time to time, but for the most part it’s modern stuff from tons of different awesome content creators. It’s grown to become my personal favorite event for sure. I go to a lot of events, wander around and don’t buy a thing. When I go to TMD I always end up buying something.
Everything in this picture is from the event besides the skin, hair, beard, and hands. If you’re a male on SL and you haven’t been there yet you better get your ass there quick. Hell, go there if you’re a female too! Some stuff may be exclusive, so once it’s gone…it’s gone. So, go there and pick some stuff up, and support the ever so darling designers that take place in it.

I am always scouring the grid for awesome bits of armor and weaponry. My journey has brought me to the land of Dark Prophet Designs. A land I know well and enjoy very much. I’ve been buying stuff from them since I first came across them. Their weapon harness alone is more often than not in many of the outfits I put together. If you’ve never been there before and you loooove fantasy stuff…just go…now.
Now to talk about the Dominion armor from them specifically. It’s a damn nice looking set, isn’t it? The detail is deliciously decadent with that worn metal, rough cloth and scratched leather. The bits of chain mail are a fine touch, though I almost wish there was just a bit more. At first I thought the waist was much too narrow and the shoulders/boots were too big. It’s strange, but the more I look at it the more it DOESN’T look that way. However, with only the pants and boots on it does look a bit odd with less bulky armor up top. I have zero complaints about how it looks all together. If you want to be a big, bulky armored beast..I’d suggest picking this up highly. At L$1,600 it might sting your wallet a bit, but for all that it comes with and the amount of detail it has it’s well worth it.
“The warrior returns to the cliffs long after the battle. The claw marks on his arm still burn like the seven hells. Though he only gained a few silver coins that day…he still felt their comfortable weight in his pouch. His hardened eyes gaze off into the distance as he waits for another opportunity to arise.”
Taken in the sim Crest of Vrek’mar. It’s one of the only popular “traditional” fantasy sims that I know of, traditional meaning that it isn’t Gor. It’s definitely worth a check if you are into fantasy and roleplaying, but be mindful that it’s Adult rated. If you are a reader who has NEVER roleplayed before then I would suggest you should give it a shot. It can be a lot of fun.
